Yahoo’s New CEO Faces Big Challenge

As Yahoo’s new CEO, Marissa Mayer has a big challenge ahead of her. Regardless of any reformation strategy, her biggest problem is figuring out a way to turn Yahoo into a company that’s growing.

Business Insider recently published a chart that shows Yahoo’s dismal quarterly growth over the past few years. On a year over year basis, Yahoo’s revenue growth has been basically flat to negative for the past three years.

Mayer is planning on bringing her background in Google products into her business strategy at Yahoo by turning it into a tech company instead of a media company. While this new perspective might be exactly what the company needs to establish its space in the digital world, the biggest measure of her success will be quarterly revenue reports like these – and time will tell whether Yahoo really has any future ahead of it.
