Voices for CASA Children Toy Drive
We’re pretty serious about our work, but we discovered that piling up toys in the office for a great cause is the perfect way to infuse our work space with extra energy and holiday cheer.
At Lucid Agency, philanthropy is a part of our company culture and we enjoy looking for new ways to give back to our community. For the holiday season this year we thought it would be fun to have a toy drive in the office and, lucky for us, our Content Strategist, Michelle, volunteers with Voices for CASA Children.
Some kids and teens in the foster care system may not have access to the toys gathered in many of the popular toy drives. To ensure these kids enduring difficult circumstances are not disappointed on Christmas morning, we immediately decided our toy drive would benefit Voices for CASA Children.
Voices for CASA Children is the non-profit organization dedicated to recruiting and supporting Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers. “CASA volunteers look out for the best interest of children in state dependency. They remain with them for as long as it takes to find a safe and permanent home.” Voices for CASA Children is devoted to “creating opportunities that help every child know that they are cared for and safe and engaging the community to spread awareness about the plight of Arizona’s abused and neglected children.” *From the Voices for CASA Children website: http://www.voicesforcasachildren.org/
It was exciting to watch the toys pile up around the tree and the donation box—twice, since we had an early pick-up date midway through the collection period. It was even more fun to see the pictures Michelle brought back to us from the distribution event where CASA’s were able to shop for the kids they advocate for—check out the photos:
Thank you to our team for their generosity and to Michelle for coordinating the toy drive. We know all the generous donations will put smiles on the faces of many kids in our community, and isn’t bringing happiness to others the very thing that Christmas is all about?
