Google Premier Partner Summit Top Takeaways

I recently returned from an informative gathering of Google Premier Partners at the Google headquarters.  It’s always great to mingle with fellow Premier Partner Agencies and clients from all over the globe at the “mothership” and this visit was no exception. It was exciting to learn about the great upcoming advancements and product iterations at Google and I want to share two of my top takeaways with you:

The ARCore Experience for visitors

  1. Of the most interesting developments was the Google Augmented Reality (AR) Core kit that can be used to show furniture in an empty room or virtualize nearly any object in any other space. Essentially, ARCore is Google’s answer for augmented reality experiences that “almost” anyone can build… this is highly relevant for both our Education and Real Estate specialties. As more refinement will be developed in future iterations, be prepared to see websites and campaigns featuring AR experiences. Download it for yourself and check it out:

  1. It’s official: Google Adwords is now Google Ads! These few letters may seem insignificant, but Google doesn’t change names on a whim and after a decade of being known as AdWords this transition signifies greater change. Many of Google’s standalone products are converging under one umbrella now called the “Google Marketing Platform.”
    The Google Marketing Platform now includes:
  • Analytics
  • Data Studio
  • Optimize
  • Surveys
  • Tag Manager
  • Display & Video 360
  • Search Ads 360

For now, it sounds like Google Ads, Google AdSense (the publisher ad platform), Google Ad Manager (inventory manager) and Google Cloud will continue to be stand-alone products. For marketers, this new structure signifies that Google has restructured based on areas of focus that will grow and change in the coming months and years.

While digital marketing professionals are excited to see these new developments, the real winner is the consumer. With more technology developing rapidly and new focus areas for growth, the online experience is only going to become more amazing, effective, and personalized.
